The organization in Zaandam currently employs around 80 people, the majority of whom work in 5-shift production.

Within our Financial Department we are looking for a Financial Accountant. You will be working in a close team at the head office of Van Exter BV. You will have regular contact with colleagues from our offices in Bangkok, China and Indonesia.

Job Description

The position of Financial Accountant is part of the Controlling department. The department is responsible for the collection, recording and reporting of financial data or timely periodic closing of the accounts of the various companies belonging to the group. You will be responsible for carrying out and checking various financial administrative activities relating to accounts receivable, accounts payable and payroll, and you will ensure that data is processed and processed correctly and in a timely manner in the financial accounts.

You are responsible for

As Financial Accountant you will perform supporting activities for the financial, accounts payable, accounts receivable and the salary administration. Besides being able to book creditor invoices and debtor monitoring, the main focus of the work is to assist our financial service center in Thailand where the bulk of these activities take place. Given the small team at the head office in Zaandam, the following activities are also part of this job:

Various financial administrative activities:
  • • Responsible for the financial administration (incl. controlling and closing)
  • • Manage historical data administration
  • • Payroll tax and VAT returns
  • • Drafting and processing of memorandum items
  • • Cash management
  • • Accounts payable management
  • • Manage suspense accounts
  • • Account and cost center structure management
  • • Asset and investment accounting management

Various reporting and analysis activities:
  • • Management and production of internal and external reports
  • • Analysis of differences between financial and non-financial topics
  • • Preparing overviews for reports
  • • Support in the production of procedures
  • • Application Manager / Key user of the ERP system SAP (Financial module)

Other work:
  • • Management of contracts, insurance, permits and various legal regulations
  • • Various support activities in the production of the budget.
  • • Project leader/project member of various (company-wide) projects
  • • Leading the financial administration (incl. work consultation)
  • • Advising the organization on various financial and fiscal topics (e.g. payroll tax, budget exhaustion)
  • • Support in the production of procedures

Profile candidate

You have administrative knowledge on a Bachelor level, or equivalent through work experience and are able to work accurately. Working in a team is easy for you, but we also expect you to be able to work independently. You have good communication skills because you have a lot of contact with internal and external parties, both verbally and in writing, regarding financial and salary information.

  • • You are numerical and analytical
  • • Command of the English language orally and in writing
  • • Mastery of: MS office, SAP, PowerBI
  • • You can keep a good overview, are accurate and can of course handle confidential information and the duty of secrecy.
  • • You are customer friendly and have good communication skills.
