A revolutionary new documentary about meat, protein, and strength.
It’s all about a plant-based diet mind set in the world of sports.
Did you know that most of our meaty tastes are plant-based?
Many chains follow the plant-based trend. After Burger King with the Impossible Whopper in all US stores, the vegan hotdog at Ikea in Europe, Nestlé's Incredible Burger at McDonald’s, Subway’s Beyond Meatball Marinara sub. Now also KFC partnered with Beyond meat to test plant-based ‘chicken’ nuggets.
It was tested in one shop in Atlanta and sold out in less than 5 hours.
The company says it will "evaluate these results and customer feedback to determine the best way forward beyond the Atlanta test – potentially a larger test and/or national rollout." (USA Today)
What will be next?
In the style of the popular Meatless Monday in the US & UK, a “National week without meat” will be organized for the first time in the Netherlands. This will be held from 5-11 March.
The initiators of this event feel that eating meat every day is something from the past. They like to promote a flexitarian diet.
A flexitarian is a person who is flexible in their food choices, they are conscious about what, when and how much they eat. They vary with meat, fish, vegetarian or vegetable dishes during the week.
Next to this topic they would like to show the impact a meatless week has on the environment. More often than not eating meat or fish for a day is a small effort with an unimaginably positive impact on humans, animals and the environment.
